Another piece I am still currently working on, done with the figure but I am very unhappy with the shadow and also plan to add in some kind of out of focus background, if anyone has any ideas or crits feel free to comment!
This blog is a place where the Ringling illustration class of '10 can help each other through more in-depth critiques and comments. I suggest that everyone post comments anonymously so that we can all be as honest as possible; HOWEVER, be respectful, helpful and professional please.
and..
This is my most recent finished illustration. Yes, the pink outline is kind of iffy. The person is a man, in a long mourning jacket. I figured the top hat and the time period would make it so that the long hair isn't too confusing gender-wise.
This is my sifi piece at the tight sketch phase. It's on the movie, Gattaca. Really good movie, starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. For those of you who havent seen it, it is set in the future where humans are classified as Valid or Invalid dependent on their medical analysis when they are born. When a baby is born it is analysed and the doctors are able to determine the exact date and time it will die along with all other medical issues the human may have throughout it's life. Dependent on whether you are an Invalid or Valid determines what kind of job and in turn, life, you will have. i.e astronauts are usually in perfect predictablitly they will have a healthy life in contrast to someone who is predicted to have heart problems will live his life as a janitor. This movie is about how an Invalid tries to become a Valid. Very kool movie, check it out.
