help!

OK so suggestions, tips, advice!!!! VERY WELCOME!!!

its just a submission for "waking the giants-Ringling 100". originally it was going to be for both that and a KIDROBOT art show-hence the kidrobot in the center but then i couldn't pay to get it framed and that's required in order to submit so I'm not submitting...

Anyway, here's what I'm having trouble with: the transition from sky to floor. Eventually the floor will look wood-ish. i was thinking having some kinda of cloudy sky or something but then how does the floor play in? I just don't know where to take it from here and i don't know what to do with the sky.

I've been told maybe a
silhouetted city behind the robot but also maybe that's too complicated and to keep it simple.

Again...suggestions, tips, advice!!!! VERY WELCOME!!!

Thanks!

Landscape pastel

Landscape done in chalk pastels. I took a photo of it, so i could make corrections as needed. Any suggestions? Im also wondering what people's thoughts are on the composition. I'm trying new things out.

This is a photo of the piece, not a scan. But I figure you can get the gist of it.
