what'd ya think?

Any feedback...please feel free. I'm going for a rose colored glasses concept, like they are walking through this industrial factory place but because they are in love, it doesn't matter and where ever they go, pretty things/flowers follow. Do I need more flowers, etc.?

I was thinking maybe changing them to be more colorful instead of monochromatic to show they are seperate from the dingy factory? thoughts?

stuck...

Hey guys, not sure where to take this. I'm stuck. I don't know what to do with it right now.

The two figures don't fit in the space. I'm going to be changing her gesture a little to make her seem more like shes falling backwards.

Any tips, advice would be more than helpful!

Thanks!

help!

OK so suggestions, tips, advice!!!! VERY WELCOME!!!

its just a submission for "waking the giants-Ringling 100". originally it was going to be for both that and a KIDROBOT art show-hence the kidrobot in the center but then i couldn't pay to get it framed and that's required in order to submit so I'm not submitting...

Anyway, here's what I'm having trouble with: the transition from sky to floor. Eventually the floor will look wood-ish. i was thinking having some kinda of cloudy sky or something but then how does the floor play in? I just don't know where to take it from here and i don't know what to do with the sky.

I've been told maybe a
silhouetted city behind the robot but also maybe that's too complicated and to keep it simple.

Again...suggestions, tips, advice!!!! VERY WELCOME!!!

Thanks!

Landscape pastel

Landscape done in chalk pastels. I took a photo of it, so i could make corrections as needed. Any suggestions? Im also wondering what people's thoughts are on the composition. I'm trying new things out.

This is a photo of the piece, not a scan. But I figure you can get the gist of it.

Ill&Wip

Here's something I'm working on just for fun, no where near finish yet.and..
This is my most recent finished illustration. Yes, the pink outline is kind of iffy. The person is a man, in a long mourning jacket. I figured the top hat and the time period would make it so that the long hair isn't too confusing gender-wise.

:edit:
very helpful crits so far, thanks :)

progress...

I'm trying to paint Jesus and I'm using Desmond from Lost as reference and I can't seem to make it less "Desmondy" lol any tips on how to make it look more like Jesus?

This is my sifi piece at the tight sketch phase. It's on the movie, Gattaca. Really good movie, starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. For those of you who havent seen it, it is set in the future where humans are classified as Valid or Invalid dependent on their medical analysis when they are born. When a baby is born it is analysed and the doctors are able to determine the exact date and time it will die along with all other medical issues the human may have throughout it's life. Dependent on whether you are an Invalid or Valid determines what kind of job and in turn, life, you will have. i.e astronauts are usually in perfect predictablitly they will have a healthy life in contrast to someone who is predicted to have heart problems will live his life as a janitor. This movie is about how an Invalid tries to become a Valid. Very kool movie, check it out.

All that being said, crits are much appreciated!!!

open assignment suggestions

I'm doing cool looking old dudes and a funky old school boom box for the open assignment from Pratt's class. I'm going bright and candy colored for this one but keeping in mind colors that work alright. Any suggestions for the colors I should use for the boom box and the shirts? [I'm gonna go with hints of lime green in the boom box to compliment the magenta]

Three illustrations

This first one is about the terminator gene that was developed to prevent plants from producing seeds. I thought of female plants cutting and tying each others fallopian tubes.

This article talked about how Rwanda is building its country's economy by weaving baskets and selling them to Macy's.
This last one is about Josef Mengele, a Nazi scientist who was on a mission to make the perfect race out of twins. He fled to a small town in Brazil where he continued his experiments on twins and now, one in every 5 pregnancies in that town, are twins.
Heres a three hour figure painting from thursday's class.
